Careerbuilder announced today that they have acquired a majority stake in Textkernel. Per the Textkernel website, the company “offers high quality multilingual CV parsing and semantic search, sourcing, lead generation, matching tools and labour market statistics to accelerate and improve the process of matching demand and supply in the job market.”

This acquisition will allow Careerbuilder to provide Multilingual Semantic Search and Matching Technologies to recruiters. The big data jobs portion of the Textkernel portfolio should also bolster the Careerbuilder Supply and Demand portal.

This move comes follows a series of steps Careerbuilder has been taking recently to move from being a job board to a more “sweeping software provider.” Another recent acquisition that caught the eye of many in the sourcing community was the 2014 acquisition of recruitment technology company, Broadbean.

Textkernal leadership has confirmed that the company will remain an independent brand and company within the group.
