Showing appreciation to your colleagues, mentors, business partners, friends, etc. can sometimes be challenging. You want to show gratitude for their help, support, for a job well done, or when you leave the company.

Usually, it is said a handwritten thank you note is a great way to show your appreciation for all the good things your colleague has done to make the workplace a comfortable and fun place to work. However, in this case, it’s an article. Wording your note can be difficult and finding the right words. Most of you know me and know I am a big sap, and I am finding more and more that we need more kindness, appreciation for all.

So, this article is an appreciation message to all who’ve supported, encouraged, advise, or just listened. From heart, I want to thank you for being part of my career growth and in my life.

You’re the most amazing community I have been a part of. Your help has made my career much more vibrant and of course, fun. I appreciate your time and effort. I wanted to say thank you for your encouragement — our community ROCKS. I’m grateful you’re in my life professional and personal life. This community pushes me to challenge myself in my career. I wouldn’t be where I am without many of you.

Thank you for caring and supporting wholeheartedly. The roles you all have played in my life is invaluable. I’m grateful for all of your help and continued knowledge even though we have many differences and don’t always agree, its essential to understand each other and learn from our differences. Thank you for being an open-minded person. I am lucky to know you.

I just wanted to say thank you, SourceCon (Amy Suits, Kate Wilson, Shannon) I know it’s not your thing to be spot-lighted for ALL the work you do, that most of us have no idea because it flows so smoothly, and of course your humor (love it), your willingness, your professionalism, just so much to name, but you ALL make SourceCon an excellent conference. I’ve enjoyed working with you and getting to know you better; you are an extension to my family. Thanks for making me feel valued and essential. You’re amazing.

Thank you ALL for being there for me. You’re the best virtual community I have ever been involved, and you all make me want to be a better mentor, SME, person. Thanks for having my back, you are not only my network, but you are also my friends, mentees, and mentors. I am so inspired by everything that I have learned from you all. Your guidance and encouragement have helped me get to where I am today.

To finish up this sap, personal thank you article. I count myself lucky to know you all in this incredible community. You are not just my communities but also my dear friends (new and old). Thanks for being some of the most exciting people I’ve ever known and made yourself available to build such a community. You all are the best, honestly.

I’ll leave you with this quote that I read at least twice a week – “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having a more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” —Oprah Winfrey
