G.I. Joe says, “Knowing is half the battle.” Understanding this, we are very excited to have Chris Hadnagy, a cybersecurity professional and self-proclaimed “human hacker” – a.ka. social engineer – presenting at SourceCon NYC. The social engineering community lives by the mantra “Knowledge is power.” Hadnagy aims to define social engineering for us and how understanding it and applying certain techniques to our sourcing activities, we can ‘go to battle’ fully armed and skilled to find what we’re looking for.

Hadnagy has been involved with computers and technology for over thirteen years. Presently his focus is on the “human” aspect of technology, such as social engineering and physical security. Chris has spent time in providing training on many topics and also has had many articles published in local, national, and international magazines and journals.

He currently works as the operations manager of Offensive Security and is the lead developer of www.social-engineer.org. He is also the author of the upcoming book, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking.

Over the next several weeks leading up to SourceCon NYC, we will be bringing you quick-hit interviews with the folks who will be presenting at the conference. This is a great way for you to get to “meet” the speakers and get a taste of what you can expect at the conference. We hope you’ll join us February 8-9 in New York City!
