Video: The End of Sourcing as We Know It by @MarkNexus

If you were at SourceCon Denver, you definitely remember the song. Mark Tortorici started day 2 of the conference with a song called “The End of Sourcing as We Know It.”In the song, Tortorici sings about all the tools and personalities we love as sourcers and recruiters. Mark was nice enough to record the song and share the video (with lyrics) on YouTube.

Enjoy!

IT’S THE END OF SOURCING AS WE KNOW IT (BUT NOT IN MY MIND)
Lyrics: Mark Tortorici

That’s great it starts with a blog, tweet,
like, plus one, rss feed, jeremy roberts is not afraid.
.io and import, build up metrics, build reports,
cast a web out, cast some tweets, stalker is as stalker thinks
Sourcing strategies, sourcing teams, sourcing managers, sourcing leads
Resumes and profiles, user groups, speaking bios
Google, Bing, and Blekko, Xing, MillionShort, Duck Go, ‘Vurb’ing
only touch the surface of the unknown internet.

All your bosses, HR managers are there and then they’re breathing down your neck.
Associations, organizations, white papers, tech crunch, usenet, Gopher, (ListServ)
LinkedIn, Google+, social networks, social scenes, github, Facebook, meetup, Twitter,
Find some pictures instagram’d and pin up all the pinterest,
follow all the coding jedi’s, stack your overflow
Don’t forget the conferences, the patents, the darknet before you finally pick up the phone

It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end of sourcing as we know it but not in my mind

Connect6, Gild Score, Talent Bin, Maltego
Tweet a job, Rapportive, hack – Get those candidates, call them back!
The internet, the wild west, always check the ATS
If This Then That – set up rules pick up the slack
OpenWeb and Hiring Solved, Broadlook, Outwit, DownThemAll

Followerwonk, Tweet Deck, Buffer, Bit.ly
Topsy, Twiangulate, Tweepz, Hoot Suite, Yoono it’s late
A job offer, a job offer, a job offer of lies!
Offer up a dream job, free food, ping pong, all-night gym and still my candidates all decline.

It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end (I will get more time online)
of sourcing as we know it but not in my mind

The other day I dreamt a match between the sourcer training batch;
Johnny Campbell, Glen Cathey, Amybeth Quinn,
Jim Stroud, Glenn Gutmacher, Mark Tortorici, Ronnie Bratcher
Dean Da Costa, AIRS, Brain Gain, Sourcing Institute
Jeremy Langdon, Johnny V, Carmen Hudson, Matt Ferree,
Stacy Zapar, Bryan Chaney, Derek Zeller, Matt Charney,
sorry if I missed you but this song has to end before tonight right?  Right.

It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end of sourcing as we know it
It’s the end (I will get more time online)
of sourcing as we know it but not in my mind
