Did you know that there is a way to see the email address of anyone who communicates with you on LinkedIn? To do this, you must enable email notifications so you receive a message when you are contacted by another LinkedIn user.

Below is an example of an email notification I received after a LinkedIn user communicated with me:

Steps to identify the email address of the sender

1.  Open the email in outlook and go to the file tab:

2. Click on ‘properties’ and you will see the popup below:

3. Hidden in the “Internet headers” section is the users real email address.

Reminder: This trick works for any contact or reply on Linkedin as long as you’re receiving notifications in your outlook email address.

Editor’s note: This tip also works in Apple Mail. Simply open the message, select ‘view’ in the menu bar, select ‘message’, then select ‘default headers’ to view the same information.
